Karl Hagenauer had studied architecture and design under Josef Hoffmann. After the death of his father Carl in 1928, he took over the business, the renowned
Hagenauer workshops, which he managed together with his sister and brother Fran. This mirror reflects the grace and lightness of Karl’s work, in which
ornament is freed from the ground, playing like trellis with empty space.
