In 1905 Michael Powolny and Bertold Loeffler founded Wiener Keramik, which merged in 1912 with Gmundner Keramik. Wiener Keramik was involved in all the major architectural projects undertaken by the Wiener Werkstaette, including the Cabaret Fledermaus and Palais Stoclet. The white glaze of this vase shaped lamp is set off by colorful clusters of flowers, reflecting the artistic expression in the play of opposites.
