Biedermeier Extendible Table

Elegant extendible dining tables are rare and quite special among Biedermeier furniture. In this piece, two pairs of columns on scrolled feet support the versatile table top with its richly figured burled walnut veneer. The side pieces of this oval “sofa table” can be folded down to give it a rectangular appearance. Two leaves can be added to the middle section, for the table to appear at its full length of over 8 feet. As a dining table, it comfortably seats 12.
