Architect and designer Otto Prutcher showed this table at the Exhibition of the Deutscher Werkbund in Cologne in 1914, where he was represented with his “Room for an Art Collection”. The Austrian pavilion at the Werkbund Exhibition was designed by Josef Hoffmann, under whom Prutcher had trained as a student at the School of Applied Arts. In 1914 Otto Prutcher also became a vital member of the Wiener Werkstaette, for whom he designed furniture, glass, textiles, metalwork, furniture and jewelry.
