This very elegant Empire Secretaire with the classical figure of Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdon, is a wonderful esxample of the finest Viennese craftmanship. Its classicism is inspired by the French Empire, which became fashionable in Austria through Napoleon’s marriage to the Austrian princess Marie-Louise.
