Pair of Biedermeier commodes

VC-11-62

Munich, c.1825
Cherry veneer

During the Biedermeier era, there were several centers of furniture
production: Vienna, Munich, Berlin and North Germany. Each of these regions contributed to the development of the style and featured certain
elements of design and wood.

The simple, unified form of this elegant pair of three drawer commodes
carries the typical features originating from the area around Munich.
They are veneered in matching cherry, which is native to the region.
