Karl Hagenauer studied under Josef Hoffmann at the Vienna Academy. His early years were marked by the influence of the artists of the Vienna Secession and the ‘Wiener Werkstaette’. After the death of his father Carl Hagenauer in 1928, Karl took charge of the family business, the renowned Hagenauer Workshops, which he managed together with his sister and brother, Franz. This work has the grace and lightness that has made the name of Hagenauer synonymous with excellence.
