This suite represents the finest quality of craftsmanship of the early 19th Century. These exceptional chairs are comparable to the work of the architect, painter and writer Leo von Klenze (1784-1864), who is most noted for his work as court architect to Ludwig I, king of Bavaria. Chairs decorated with similar neoclassical cartouches, can be admired at the Muenchner Residenz, the royal palace of Ludwig I and his wife Therese.
