About Us

Rita Bucheit, Ltd. specializes in fine Empire (1799-1815) and Biedermeier (1815-1848), Vienna Secession (c. 1900) and Art Deco (1920’s & 30’s) furniture and objets d’art from Europe. Rita Bucheit, of Viennese origin, has been sharing her passion and knowledge of fine antiques with Chicago since 1987. In 1998, when daughter and art historian Michelle Miller joined the gallery, Rita Bucheit Ltd. expanded the specialty to include Vienna Secession and Art Deco pieces which complement the core inventory of Biedermeier and Empire furniture.
The gallery exhibits these beautiful museum quality pieces at the most prestigious Art & Antique Shows in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and Palm Beach. Our pieces are also present in the permanent collections of major museums across the United States.
